is sharing necessary?

There is no perfect personality that we can enact to. In my case, I am beginning to realize that disengagement is socially and psychologically unhealthy.

Have you ever gone to the point in your life where you lost a lot of people in your life and you don’t want to try again? I read that we need to relate. I mean that is a psychological need of man. If we are not able to express ourselves, we will be clogged in a subjective reality that we created by our own thoughts alone.

I don’t know about you but I found it dangerous. But to be honest, I am doing that myself. When we live by our own thoughts, we will interpret things according to how we see them. And the reality is, we are bound to pursue our emotions by how we interpret the world. If we are hateful to a person, everything he or she does is offensive. That’s why there will be a loophole in our interpretation. More than being egoistic, or self-centered, we need to get away from our thoughts. We need to consider other interpretations. By letting our previous thinking be evaluated along the way, it will be viable by willful change.

The most recent and important issue we need to address is the claim that we lost people in our lives. By assuming that companion from key people are the only significant and viable relationship we can have, we are limiting life. We are going against science because every living thing will die. If key people in your life die and they went out of your life, what will you do? Will you isolate? Will you let life and its evil thereof get the best out of you? Will you waste another day being depressed by remembering happy memories that can’t be felt anymore? Worst yet, will you cease to exist because everything has changed?

We need to question our claims. We need to step back from our subjective realities and re-evaluate if it is bringing any good in our lives. Change will intentionally be achieved only by genuinely realizing that we are heading to destruction.

And the first counter argument of us being left alone is we are incorporated in a society where there are people interacting with us in different levels. Most of these people are, by default, strangers. That’s why we have to decide if this stranger will be given an opportunity to be known.
We then need to consider that this stranger has its own strengths and weakness. It can either exceed or disappoint our expectation. However, more than labeling someone and giving them treatment according to their score based on our standards, we need to recreate meaning with them. Because only by sharing meaning and by observing the same thought pattern can we build relationship for we are relating.

Is it possible that we intentionally locked ourselves down and claim to be a victim? Is it possible that we dragged ourselves down here, in a mud of despair and being alone because we neglected to share?
The consequence of being an introvert is we do not share thoughts as long as we have not calculated it yet. And it can result to false assumptions about us.

I believe in social (re)constructionism. It means that we can reconstruct ourselves. It means that we are not done yet. It means more the desire to willfully impose our personality to others, we can also work on weaknesses by coping up. Again, we are responsible for our thoughts and actions. This is real life. It’s time to genuine welcome and allow happiness by sharing our lives.

Poem Review: Our Mother Tongue by Rizal

IF truly a people dearly love
The tongue to them by Heaven sent,
They'll surely yearn for liberty
Like a bird above in the firmament.

BECAUSE by its language one can judge
A town, a barrio, and kingdom;
And like any other created thing
Every human being loves his freedom.

ONE who doesn't love his native tongue,
Is worse than putrid fish and beast;
AND like a truly precious thing
It therefore deserves to be cherished.

THE Tagalog language's akin to Latin,
To English, Spanish, angelical tongue;
For God who knows how to look after us
This language He bestowed us upon.

AS others, our language is the same
With alphabet and letters of its own,
It was lost because a storm did destroy
On the lake the bangka 1 in years bygone.

The Benefits of Free Writing

We are progressive beings. Had not been for craftsmanship of Homo sapiens during Stone Age, we wouldn’t know writing. Their carved cave images communicate a civilization that exists back then. Later, Egyptian’s hieroglyphics not only portrays dated narrations but also relates to fiction through mythological character. This language is enhanced through basic parts of speech, its syntax, tones, and other technicalities. So men progress not because they can communicate but because there are archived ideas that give backbone for new research and innovation.

15 minute warm-up

To maximize academic papers, educational institutions use technical writing. It uses structure to name items, identify its category, and explain further details. However, creative writing is a medium for novels, poems, and more. But as a writer by heart or profession, we will experience mental block along the way. It is the dull moments when our language seems to fail and ideas can’t be put into words. To go back in our, there is an ice breaker called free writing. For 15 minutes, we have to let it all out into paper without worrying about technicalities. So it is a beneficial practice as early as now.

The rationale

First let’s talk about how to free write. As we mentioned above, it is a nonstop randomness where a writer can write without murdering his flow. We must realize that our articles are technically our babies. We birth them out into words and are willing to do necessary care to see them grow. But technically speaking, being our own critic hinders writing process itself. Writers are communicators. So imagine a stressed first time speaker that holds the microphone while struggling to pull off an argument. This is our situation in forced technical writing. But free writing is a friend that we can focus an eye to eye contact to be more relaxed during the whole seminar. In free writing, we can be free without worrying too much about subject and verb agreement. In free writing, we can say our deepest downfall and highest rise when no one else is available to listen. But psychology, it is beneficial to write down emotions and pour it out as it is. Doctors recommended it to patient to lessen their stress. In fact, we just need to hear ourselves and analyze if our thoughts are logical enough to decide better. Lastly, the benefit of free write for those people who are practicing creative writing is that we can dig precious gems from our creative land. Yes, we are the creative land. Our personal experiences and convictions can be put into writing so the backbone of change can start again.

A call to express

Try free writing and do it regularly. As a matter of fact, novels and office contracts gone through massive hours of revision. Actually, it’s what make our babies grow. Each revision beatifies the article because we can see its flaws and makes correction to resolve it. Sometimes writers lack supporting details to pull off an argument, sometimes the thesis statement is to broad that readers are left wanting for more. So each manuscript or random free write is an achievement because after several years, we can see how much we change for the better.

Dear Lolo,

Mahalig kang magsulat, kumanta, at magtahi.

Nung umalis sila mami at dadi pa – Qatar ikaw na yung guardian namin 12 years old palang ako. Naalala ko nung first year high school, dinala ko sa school yung malaking radio mo na kulay itim.
Pag nag-aaway kayo nila mami at dadi, sayo ako yumayakap.

nung malaki na ako, si jim na yung pinagbuhusan mo ng favor, okay lang sakin kasi yun ka talaga e. you can’t help but to love as a father.

Pangako Lo, I will be a better person. Rerespetuhin at hindi ako mang-aagrabyado ng babae kasi yun yung advice mo sakin, first year high school palang ako.

I experience you as a father, walang ibang taong makakasira ng bond natin, hindi ang past mistakes mo nung nawala si lola.

Lo.

Thank you for living up to my 24th birthday. Gift mo na yun e.
On the other side… kailangan nating Makita ang other side ng pagkawala ni lolo…

Fact 1. 88 years old na siya
Fact 2. Sudden heart attack
Fact 3. God’s appointed time, when all of us have heart of the Gospel.
Fact 4. He could have died, but he lived for purpose

Throughout the process, Jesus is molded
