“I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”
(Philippians 4:13) Paul learned this truth about life during his pursuit to
preach the Good News about God’s grace through Jesus Christ. But first let us
look at 2 Corinthians 6:5 to summarize his hardship; “we have been beaten, been
put in prison, faced angry mobs, worked to exhaustion, endured sleepless
nights, and gone without food.” Perhaps you feel imprisoned because of
financial lack or facing angry relatives who want you to stop going to Church or
experiencing depressing sleepless nights.
I believe God knew how it hurts. He knew the very pain we are going through today. But these things are necessary so, like Paul, we can declare that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Pruning is necessary so a tree can produce more fruit. And so is trials important for our faith. It is needed so our faith can grow because only through trials that endurance has a chance to grow.
No matter how suffocating your problem may be, God meant it for good. So let us trust Him on his ways because it is vital so Christ-likeness can be in molded us.
